Description: All political parties have published their manifestos this month in the lead up to the General Election. In the polls it seems that Labour has a commanding lead, however, polls have been wrong before. Indeed, prior to EURO 2024 getting underway England were one of the favourites to lift the trophy but despite winning the group that optimism seems to be waning on the back of 3 decidedly average performances. Scotland, got off to the worst possible start against the hosts and were unable to recover enough to qualify for the later stages, unfortunately. Our cover story this month has Andrew Pollard from SAS examining how actuaries can help mitigate the impact of extreme weather. We also have Taffy jo Mayers and Patrick Anderson-Higgins from WTW looking at how traditional barriers are fading as insurers converge in a collaborative digital landscape. Our regular contributors give their views on current events including amongst others, Alex White from Redington looking at the polarising question in investment that relates to China. Matthew Ferone and Ed Harrison from LCP asks is our personal digital footprint an opportunity for insurers or a challenge for the regulators.
